Athena runs a billiard table factory in Vietnam with an in-house line covering timber machining, slate finishing, paint and assembly through to final levelling. We work two ways:

  • OEM — you bring the design and the brand, we manufacture to your drawings and your standards.
  • ODM — we design from scratch around your product positioning, price band and target market.

Every order runs through the same quality gates, the same measured tolerances and the same delivery commitment.

OEM & ODM

Factory capability

Six production areas under one roof — no third party touches any step that decides build quality.

CNC timber machining

Cutting, routing and locating holes are CNC-driven, so frame parts repeat identically across batches. Timber is kiln-dried to 8–10% moisture before it enters the line.

Capacity600 frame sets/month

Key equipment

  • 3-axis CNC router
  • Panel saw
  • Automatic edge bander
  • Timber kiln

Paint and UV finishing

Positive-pressure filtered spray booths with UV curing for a hard, even coat. Colour is checked against the master board under D65 lighting on every batch.

Capacity500 sets/month

Key equipment

  • Positive-pressure spray booth
  • UV curing line
  • D65 colour cabinet

Slate processing

Surface grinding, fixing holes and edge cutting on dedicated machines. Every slate is laser-checked for flatness before it is matched into a set.

Tolerance≤ 0.05 mm/m

Key equipment

  • Slate grinder
  • Slate drilling machine
  • Laser flatness gauge

Assembly and levelling

Every table is fully assembled, clothed and levelled in-house before being knocked down for packing — faults surface here, not in your warehouse.

Capacity400 tables/month

Key equipment

  • Reference levelling beds
  • Cushion rebound tester
  • Cloth tensioning jigs

Material and component store

Humidity-controlled storage for timber, cloth and cushion rubber. Safety stock on imported materials keeps repeat orders off the supply-lead-time clock.

Area3,000 m²

Key equipment

  • Humidity-controlled store
  • Batch-coded inventory system

QC and metrology room

A dedicated measuring room with instruments on a calibration schedule. Results are filed by batch number and travel with the shipment.

Records100% by batch

Key equipment

  • Laser level
  • Timber moisture meter
  • Ball rebound tester
  • Force gauge

OEM or ODM — which one do you need?

They differ in where you start, not in the standard you end up with.

OEM — you own the design

You supply drawings, specifications and brand assets. We handle manufacturing, quality control and packaging to your requirements. Suited to brands with an existing range that are moving or widening their supply base.

  • Laser-etched / printed branding

On the frame, pockets and table bed.

  • Matched timber colour and grain

Checked against the physical sample you send us.

  • Cloth colour from standard charts

Simonis, Hainsworth or a supplier you nominate.

  • Own-brand packaging

Cartons, labels and assembly instructions in your identity.

  • Labelling and serial numbers

Numbered to your scheme for warranty traceability.

ODM — we design it with you

You bring the positioning, price band and target market. We develop the styling, select materials, cost it out and build the sample. Suited to distributors and club chains launching their own line.

  • Styling designed from scratch

Built around the positioning and price band you set.

  • 3D modelling and renders

For sign-off, and for your marketing before stock lands.

  • Prototype build

A physical sample with the full measurement report.

  • Material and costing advice

Material options mapped to each target retail price.

  • OEM & ODM

    Custom sizes

    From 7ft to 12ft, including non-standard dimensions.

  • OEM & ODM

    Custom legs and pockets

Leg profile, pocket material, stitching colour.

  • OEM & ODM

    Bundled accessories

Cues, balls, racks and scoreboards to your configuration.

Quality control

Four inspection layers, each with a numeric acceptance threshold and a report retained per batch.

IQC

Incoming material inspection

Timber, slate, cushion rubber and cloth are checked before they enter the store. Failed lots go back to the supplier rather than onto the line.

Key equipment
Moisture meter, calipers, colour reference board
Acceptance threshold
Timber moisture 8–10% · slate free of cracks and voids
IPQC

In-process control

Sampled checks at each machining, painting and assembly station, catching defects before they travel further down the line.

Key equipment
Go/no-go gauges, calipers, D65 colour cabinet
Acceptance threshold
Dimensional deviation ≤ 1 mm · colour ΔE ≤ 1.5
OQC

Final product inspection

Tables are fully assembled, clothed and levelled, then re-measured in full before being knocked down for packing.

Key equipment
Laser level, ball rebound tester
Acceptance threshold
Flatness ≤ 0.05 mm/m · cushion rebound to tournament spec
PSI

Pre-shipment inspection

You may appoint a third party such as SGS, BV or TÜV to inspect before container loading. Inspection costs sit with the buyer.

Key equipment
Per the inspection body procedure
Acceptance threshold
AQL 2.5 or as agreed in contract

Frequently asked questions

OrdersWhat is the minimum order quantity?

20 tables for the 9ft and 8ft/7ft pool lines, 10 for carom and snooker, and 50 sets for slate and loose components. For a first market trial we can look at smaller runs with an adjusted unit price.

OrdersWhat are your lead times?

90–120 days for a first order from sign-off of the technical requirement sheet, including sampling and sample approval. Repeat orders run 45–60 days because tooling and jigs are already in place.

SamplesAre samples chargeable?

Yes. Sample cost is charged at actual cost and credited against the bulk order once it reaches MOQ. Tooling charges, where an order needs dedicated tooling, are itemised separately at quotation stage.

PaymentWhat are your payment terms?

Standard terms are T/T, 30% deposit and 70% before shipment. From three containers upward we accept L/C at sight through a reputable bank.

ShippingWhich Incoterms do you work with?

EXW, FOB Hai Phong or Cat Lai, CIF, and DDP by agreement. We ship with our own forwarder or with one you nominate.

ShippingHow many tables fit in a container?

A 20ft container takes 28 × 9ft tables and a 40HQ takes 50 × 9ft tables, knocked down. The 8ft and 7ft lines load more; exact figures are stated in the quotation.

WarrantyWhat warranty and spares do you provide?

24 months on frame and slate, 12 months on cushion rubber. Every shipment includes 3% spare parts free of charge so you can resolve issues locally without waiting for the next run.

FactoryCan we audit the factory?

Yes, and we encourage it. Visit yourself or appoint a third party such as SGS, BV or TÜV. If a trip is not practical we will run a live walkthrough on a route you choose.
